Boeing: Pilots increasingly in demand

The aircraft manufacturer said “continued economic expansion” will require the global airline industry to hire about 28,000 new pilots annually.

   Aircraft manufacturer Boeing warned in its newly released 2015 Pilot and Technician Outlook that the demand for pilots to fly planes is up more than 4 percent compared to the aircraft manufacturer’s forecast last year.
   The company said that “continued economic expansion” will require the global airline industry to hire about 28,000 new pilots annually.
   The 20-year projected demand for new pilots by region is:

  • Asia Pacific – 226,000 pilots.
  • Europe – 95,000 pilots.
  • North America – 95,000 pilots.
  • Latin America – 47,000 pilots.
  • Middle East – 60,000 pilots.
  • Africa – 18,000 pilots.
  • Russia/CIS – 17,000 pilots.
