Customs workers at Brazilian ports have planned a pay-related, ‘standard operation’ strike in which the minimum permitted numbers of staff will be on duty.
Customs workers at Brazilian ports have planned a pay-related strike effective Aug. 19, Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) said in a customer advisory note.
The ‘standard operation’ strike, in which the minimum permitted numbers of staff will be on duty, does not have a set end date.
A spokesperson for ISS told American Shipper it is currently unclear which regions and ports will most strictly adhere to the strike, however the north-east region of Brazil is confirmed to adhering.
ISS Brazil said it is coordinating berthing with its clients to help minimize impact from the strike.
