C.H. Robinson names new COO

The Eden Prairie, Minn.-based third-party logistics provider has appointed Robert Biesterfeld to serve as chief operating officer, effective March 1.

   Third-party logistics provider C.H. Robinson has appointed Robert Biesterfeld to serve as chief operating officer, effective March 1.
   In this role, he will oversee C.H. Robinson’s five business divisions, including North American Surface Transportation (NAST), Global Forwarding, Robinson Fresh, Europe Surface Transportation, and Managed Services, along with the company’s commercial operations and information technology. He will also continue to serve as president of NAST.
   Biesterfeld has been with the company for 19 years. Prior to becoming president of NAST, he was vice president for truckload. He also served as vice president of Robinson Fresh and as a general manager in Phoenix.
