The new less-than-container-load (LCL) facility connects to the third-party logistics provider’s road, air and ocean network, as well as complementing its already established full-container-load (FCL) gateway in the region.
Eden Prairie, Minn.-based third-party logistics provider C.H. Robinson has opened a new less-than-container-load (LCL) gateway in Antwerp, Belgium, extending its European gateway network.
The Antwerp LCL Ocean gateway connects to C.H. Robinson’s network of 45 road transportation, ocean and air freight offices in Europe, namely the UK, Germany and Italy. In addition to the new Antwerp Gateway service, C.H. Robinson has provided full-container-load (FCL) services from this location since May 2015.
C.H. Robinson has also recently acquired APC Logistics in Australia and New Zealand.
“With the opening of the LCL gateway in Antwerp, we will be able to serve our customers with a wider portfolio of services to North America and Oceania (Australia and New Zealand),” said Ivo Aris, vice president of global forwarding Europe. “We are continually looking for opportunities to offer our customers flexibility in services they require, supported by the experience and skills of our teams.”
