ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES TRADE COMMITTEE TO MEET
C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. said first-quarter net income rose 19.2 percent to $18.1 million on revenue of $732.5 million, up 12.7 percent.
The Minneapolis-based non-asset-based third-party logistics and motor carrier said net revenues rose 15.2 percent to $113.3 million, while income from operations rose 17.1 percent to $29.4 million.
“This was a good quarter for us,” said D.R. “Sid” Verdoorn, chairman and chief executive officer for C.H. Robinson. “Our transportation net revenue growth was solid, and our branches did a great job managing operating expenses.”
Transportation net revenues rose 17.2 percent to $96.7 million, primarily due to increases in truck transportation business, including less-than-truckload. Truck net revenues rose 19.0 percent to $87.2 million. Intermodal net revenues rose 18.1 percent, to $3.7 million. Ocean net revenues edged up 2.1 percent to $3.5 million.
