California Cartage names business development director
Long Beach-based California Cartage Co. said Tuesday that Michael Stockwell has been named director of business development.
Stockwell, a 24-year veteran of the transportation and logistics industry, will be responsible for managing sales and marketing for CCC's steamship line, beneficial cargo owner, warehousing and deconsolidation customers. He served for 21 years as West Coast director for Maersk/Bridge Terminal Transportation.
Established in 1944, California Cartage specializes in providing import trucking, container drayage, truckload and less-than-truckload consolidation, warehousing, deconsolidation and distribution services nationwide to the retail, hardware, apparel, footwear and toy industries.
The firm manages more than 1,200 owner-operators in its nationwide fleet and maintains facilities throughout Southern California, as well as San Diego, Seattle, and points along the Mexican border. The firm also operates 18 warehouses nationwide and intermodal hubs in Elwood, Ill., the Port of Savannah, and the Port of Oakland.
CCC operates six independent trucking affiliates, including Cal Cartage Express, K & R Transportation, F & S Distributing, California Multimodal and Container Freight Corp.
