Car carrier sinks in Caribbean Sea
A Panamanian-flagged auto transport vessel sank Thursday night 100 miles off the northeast coast of Colombia, the U.S. Coast Guard reported.
One person was killed and one is missing from the crew of the “Dayana,” a 495-foot car carrier.
A Coast Guard cutter and other vessels in the area responded to a request for help and rescued the other 13 crewmembers.
