CARGO SERVICES FAR EAST SELECTS HONG KONG INTERNET SYSTEM
Cargo Services Far East Ltd., a Hong Kong-based freight forwarder, has
selected Arena, a logistics software company, to provide an Internet paper-free system.
The system will link shippers to Cargo Services, enabling them to submit
electronic shipping instructions and receive electronic bill of lading information.
Arena said that a significant amount of information between the various
trade-related documents is essentially the same. Retention of the data eliminates errors,
inefficiencies and costs in duplicating documents, the company said.
The Internet system also connects with Tradelink, the electronic data
interchange community system of Hong Kong.
