CARGOLUX TAKES 10th B747-400

Cargolux Airlines International, the Luxembourg-based all-cargo carrier,
has taken delivery of its 10th new B747-400 freighter from Boeing, making the airline the
world’s largest operator of the jumbo all-cargo planes.
Atlas Air, the New York-based wet-lease cargo specialist, also will
operate a fleet of 10 B747-400s next year.
Cargolux said the B747-400 allows the airline to reduce fuel costs and to
boost productivity. The freighter can carry up to 120 metric tons of cargo as far as 3,000
nautical miles, according to Boeing.
