The global non-vessel operating common carrier and ocean freight consolidator launched a direct, bi-weekly less-than-container-load export service between Miami and Manaus, Brazil.
CaroTrans, a global non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) and ocean freight consolidator, launched a direct, bi-weekly less-than-container-load (LCL) export service between Miami, Fla. and Manaus, Brazil Nov. 29, the company said.
Situated in northwestern Brazil, Manaus is a growing port city on the Negro River, 900 miles inland from the Atlantic Coast.
The city, which is the primary transport hub for the entire upper Amazon Basin, is home to many commercial and industrial parks, including around 600 businesses. Many of these businesses are electronic manufactures such as Nokia, Panasonic, LG, Microsoft, Sony, Pioneer and PhilCo.
“Miami serves as a strategic consolidations hub for freight originating from China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Europe, and the U.S. to Manaus,” CaroTrans said.
Craft, which is a global leader in NVOCC services in South America, provides local transportation and deconsolidation services at the destination point.
“The CaroTrans-Craft end-to-end service network includes over 40 direct LCL services between North and South America,” CaroTrans said.
