CARRIERS DISCUSS NEW MONTREAL/EUROPE ALLIANCE
Four ship lines are discussing a new vessel-sharing alliance between
Montreal and North Europe.
Maersk, P&O Nedlloyd, CanMar and OOCL are discussing the new alliance
that would reduce overall capacity on the Montreal/Europe route.
The service, which the carriers said has not been agreed upon, could
begin after Sea-Land withdraws from the trade at the end of April.
Sea-Land has been a partner of Maersk and P&O Nedlloyd in the trade.
Canada Maritime and OOCL operate a separate alliance, the St. Lawrence
Coordinated Service.
