CARRIERS SEEK BROADER ROLE FOR U.S/AFRICA DISCUSSION AGREEMENT
Carriers in the U.S./Southern and East Africa trade have applied to the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission to allow a broader authority for a discussion agreement between conference and non-conference carriers on this trade route.
Lykes Lines, Mediterranean Shipping Co., Safbank, Maersk Sealand and P&O Nedlloyd have applied for the authority to appoint an administrator and establish committes for their existing U.S.A.-Southern and Eastern Africa Discussion Agreement.
