Final mile (also called “last mile”) is a term used to refer to the last leg of a delivery route (it is not a mode of transportation). Businesses can define last mile in different ways, depending on what is most relevant to their business and their customers’ expectations. Final mile delivery falls into two categories: light goods (typically less than 150 pounds) and heavy goods.
