CBP sets 2008 canned tuna quota
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has set the country's canned tuna tariff-rate quota for calendar year 2008.
CBP said that 17.67 million kilograms of canned tuna may be entered or withdrawn from warehouses for consumption in 2008 at a rate of 6 percent ad valorem under Harmonized Tariff Schedule subheading 1604.14.22.
Any canned tuna entered or withdrawn from warehouses in excess of the 2008 quota will be assessed a duty rate of 12.5 percent ad valorem under HTS subheading 1604.14.30, the agency said.
