CDWORLD.COM USES SYNTRA’S LANDED COST AND COMPLIANCE SYSTEMS
CDworld.com, an online retailer of compact discs, videos, software, computer hardware and games, has hired New York-based e-commerce software firm Syntra to provide landed cost and export compliance systems for its international e-commerce transactions.
Syntra said that CDworld.com will access its “landed cost engine” via the Internet, to enable it to quote a door-to-door purchase price for international customers for every item it sells online.
In addition, the e-tailer will use Syntra’s “export compliance engine” to ensure that its products are shipped in accordance with current U.S. export regulations.
Syntra said that CDworld.com is the first in its industry to offer these services.
“In the past, we have experienced excessive, costly returns on international orders because we could not provide our customers the total landed cost of their purchases,” said Bruce Pettyjohn, CDworld.com’s president and chief executive officer.
