Celadon Trucking Services has agreed to buy a portion of the operating equipment of Robinson Transport, based in Columbus, Ohio.
Terms and conditions of the transaction were not disclosed.
Celadon said the deal will increase its density in traffic lanes in and out of the Midwest and reinforce its driver pool. It said Robinson is a significant provider of truckload shipments in the region.
Paul Will, president and chief operating officer of Celadon Trucking, said Robinson’s “footprint has tremendous potential to supplement our existing business, expand our network coverage and further accelerate our overall growth plans.”
Rick Robinson will join Celadon as vice president of Celedon’s Midwest operations. – Chris Dupin
