CenterPoint sells 21-building portfolio in Chicago area

The Oak Brook, Ill.-based industrial real estate development and management firm said the disposition consisted of about 2.4 million square feet and 110 acres of land.

   CenterPoint Properties, an industrial real estate development and management firm based in Oak Brook, Ill., sold off a 21-building portfolio in the Greater Chicago market, consisting of approximately 2.4 million square feet and 110 acres of land, the company said Tuesday.
   CenterPoint Chief Investment Officer Jim Clewlow said the disposition was an opportunity for the company to capitalize on its investment strategy. “The company is focused on building a nationally diverse port and intermodal portfolio while maintaining a firm, multimodal presence in Chicago and its surrounding submarkets,” he said.
   The company’s overall portfolio includes 59 million square feet and an occupancy level of 95.3 percent, with approximately 39 percent of its assets remaining in the Greater Chicago market.
