The Netherlands-based third-party logistics provider opened a 33,000-square-foot distribution center yesterday 16 miles from Kuala Lumpur that is designed to provide ambient and temperature-controlled storage.
CEVA Logistics opened it Central Distribution Center (CDC) 2 yesterday 16 miles from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in Bukit Jelutong, a suburb of Shah Alam.
The CDC2, which features 33,000 square meters of additional warehousing and office space, is a double story warehouse facility with direct truck access to 40 loading docks on both levels, CEVA said.
The new facility, which is designed to provide ambient and temperature-controlled storage, is located on the same site as the CDC1.
Combined, the CDC1 and CDC2 provide 67,000 square meters of warehousing and office space, making it the largest site in CEVA’s South East Asia cluster, which includes Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
In addition to being in close proximity to Port Kelang, the site is connected to a highly-developed road network and an expanding rapid transit system.
“CDC2 will play a key role as a regional distribution center for several of our customers in South East Asia, especially in the consumer and retail sectors, fulfilling their distribution needs across Malaysia and Singapore,” CEVA Executive Vice President of South East Asia Elaine Low said in a statement.
