CGM UPGRADES EUROPE/EAST COAST SOUTH AMERICA SERVICE
CGM, Hamburg Sud and Alianca have improved the transit times on their
joint Europe/East Coast South America service.
Direct calls at Bremerhaven, Lisbon and Parranagua were eliminated from
the rotation. A slower roll-on/roll-off vessel was removed from the
service, leaving eight vessels with capacities of 2,000 TEUs.
With the changes, transit times improved by two or three days, a CGM
spokesperson said. The frequency of calls remains five to six days.
The new rotation in Europe is Rotterdam, Tilbury, Hamburg, Antwerp and
LeHavre. In South America, the rotation is Suape and Rio de Janeiro (on
alternate calls), Santos, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Rio Grande
(alternate calls), Sao Francisco Do Sul, Santos, and Salvador and Suape
(alternate calls).
