Chapman Freeborn expands coverage

Chapman Freeborn Airchartering has expanded its on board courier (OBC) services with the opening of a new office in Hong Kong.
The company – which has offices in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Houston; Atlanta; and Washington – acquired Euro Express Ltd., a courier company based in Hong Kong that provides hand-carry services in Asia and worldwide.
Operating as Chapman Freeborn OBC in Hong Kong, the new venture will offer freight forwarders and other cargo clients greater access to the Chinese and Asian markets, the company said.
Chapman Freeborn’s OBC team specializes in delivering time-critical parts and documents globally.
The addition of a Hong Kong branch serves as an inter-connecting hub between America, Europe, China and other parts of Asia – particularly for the shipment of electronics and high-tech communications equipment, as well as deliveries for other time-sensitive industries such as the automotive sector, the company said.
Nikolai Bergmann was appointed head of the new company, having previously served as Euro Express’s managing director. He will oversee the management and expansion of the OBC team in Hong Kong which already includes native Mandarin and Cantonese speakers.
