CHEVRON, MITSUI TO BUY TWO LPG CARRIERS
Chevron Corp. and Mitsui & Co. Ltd. have awarded a bid to Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. to build two 82,200-cubic-meter liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers.
The vessels, to be delivered in the last quarters of 2001 and 2002, will be placed on long-term charter to Dynegy Global Liquids Inc., a subsidiary of Dynegy Inc., a marketer of energy products and services. Chevron will operate the vessels.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
