China Airlines taps WFS for cargo handling in Chicago

Under the newly expanded contract, Worldwide Flight Services will handle up to seven direct flights a week connecting Chicago with Taipei, and an estimated 56 million kilos per year.

   China Airlines has expanded its existing contract with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) in North America, tapping the airfreight services provider for cargo handling at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, according to a statement from WFS.
   Under the new contract, WFS will handle up to seven direct flights a week connecting Chicago with Taipei, and an estimated 56 million kilos per year.
   The expanded contract will bring the total annual cargo handled by WFS for China Airlines in North America to more than 130 million kilos.
   The cargo handler and airfreight services provider currently handles roughly 47 million kilos per year for China Airlines at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, in addition to providing cargo handling services for the airline in Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston, and ramp operations in Honolulu.
