CHINA SHIPPING GROUP PLANS PACIFIC ENTRY
China Shipping Group, the new expansionist Chinese
carrier, plans to enter the transpacific next year.
An executive of China Shipping (Hong Kong) Agency said that plans to
launch an Asia/U.S. service have been postponed until next year.
China Shipping Group’s transpacific debut has been rumoured for several weeks, as the
carrier continues to expand its deep-sea services.
The Shanghai-based carrier entered the Asia/Australia trade in March
and the Asia-Europe trade in April and added a second weekly Asia-Europe loop in early
August.
