Christensen hired as No. 2 at Port of Los Angeles
The Port of Los Angeles said Friday that Michael R. Christensen, a veteran transportation engineer, has joined the port as director of port development, the number two position in the nation’s biggest seaport.
Christensen was a vice president with Pasadena, Calif.-based Parsons Corp., held senior management positions in various other transportation consulting firms, and spent 16 years with the Southern Pacific Railroad.
He has also held key leadership roles in development of the Alameda Corridor in Southern California, Reno’s ReTRAC grade separation project, the Port of Oakland’s Maritime Development Alternatives Study, and the Long Beach/Los Angeles Intermodal Container Transfer Facility.
