App has a range of other functions and is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
The ocean carrier CMA CGM is launching a mobile app for tracking cargo containers.
Available from the Apple App Store and Google Play in five languages (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese). Users will be able to follow loading operations, search for routes or consult vessels schedules.
CMA CGM announced last February an investment in the startup TRAXENS, a specialist in container geolocation, and is now pursuing its digital development with the launch of its first mobile application.
This is “only the beginning of a vast technological innovation program by CMA CGM,” said Elie Zeenny, senior vice president of CMA CGM Group IT Systems.
CMA CGM said 34 percent of phone calls from clients aim at getting information about a container’s position. This new mobile application will save time by offering instant information.
Other functionalities such as an “Eco calculator,” which will allow clients to know exactly the size of the carbon footprint their container produces, will soon be added to the new application.
