The two intra-European transport brands will operate under the Containerships brand.
The CMA CGM Group announced Tuesday its intra-European multimodal transport subsidiaries Containerships and MacAndrews have united under the single Containerships brand.
The union was originally announced in January, about two months after the CMA CGM finalized its acquisition of Containerships. Claude Lebel, current CEO of MacAndrews, was appointed by Containerships’ board on Friday as Containerships’ new CEO.
Containerships and MacAndrews operate a combined fleet of 32 vessels and 700 trucks and call 64 ports through 26 maritime services and eight inland services, according to a press release.
MacAndrews, which joined the CMA GGM Group in 2002, merged with OPDR in 2018.
