CMA CGM SHORTENS ROTATION OF PACIFIC/ASIA-EUROPE LINK
Marseilles-based CMA CGM has shortened the rotation of its “North China Japan” fixed-day weekly U.S. West Coast/Asia/Europe pendulum service.
Following the recent slot exchange agreement with “K” Line in the Asia-Europe trade, CMA CGM has decided to drop eastbound calls at all Japanese ports on the “NCJ” service. The service had previously called at Kawasaki, Kobe and Hakata westbound.
The change will shorten transit times from Los Angeles and Oakland to Asian ports.
CMA CGM will continue to serve the Japanese ports of Kobe, Nagoya and Yokohama in the Asia-Europe trade under a slot charter agreement on “K” Line’s “AES/Loop 1” service. In return, “K” Line has taken space on the Asia-Europe leg of the NCJ service.
Meanwhile, the Swiss carrier Norasia is expected to take space on the transpacific leg of CMA CGM and will contribute one of its vessels to the service. The U.S./Asia/Europe NCJ operation employs 15 vessels with an average ship capacity of about 1,900 TEUs.
In Europe, the rotation of the NCJ service has been amended, with the addition of the German port of Hamburg.
Details of the revised NCJ transit times are available from the global schedules free web site http://www.compairschedules.com.
