CMA CGM starts Asia/Med loop
Marseilles, France-based CMA CGM has started a service connecting ports in China and Southeast Asia with others in the East Mediterranean.
The Levant Express (LEVEX) started with the departure of the 2,470-TEU vessel Sky Apollo from Chiwan on Aug. 6.
The sailing schedule on the French carrier’s Web site only shows the first four voyages, but it is understood that the service will soon become a weekly offering using seven ships of about 3,000 TEUs calling Chiwan, Laem Chabang, Port Kelang, Damietta, Piraeus, Mersin, Lattakia, Beirut, Damietta and back to Chiwan.
