CMA CGM SWAPS SLOTS WITH “K” LINE TO SHIP DIRECT TO JAPAN
CMA CGM of France has concluded a slot exchange agreement with
"K" Line, Japan, in the North Europe/Far East trade. It involves "perhaps
100 or 200 TEUs per ship," a spokesman said.
The deal, which began operating on Jan. 1, enables CMA CGM to offer North
European shippers an opportunity to load their cargo on ships calling at Japan direct. CMA
CGM’s own Europe/Asia services all miss out Japan eastbound. "K" Line, which
operates in an alliance with Yangming Line and COSCO Container Lines, will take equivalent
slots in CMA CGM vessels to other Asian destinations.
