CNS ELECTS ROHRMANN CHAIRMAN
Cargo Networks Services Corp., a subsidiary of the International Air Transport Association that represents U.S. air cargo interests, has elected Guenter Rohrmann chairman.
Rohrmann, vice chairman of Danzas AEI, is the first forwarder to serve as CNS chairman in the group’s history. Rohrmann takes over for Pat Phelan, vice president of cargo for Aer Lingus.
Rohrmann said he remains committed to Cargo 2000, the IATA group of airlines and forwarders set up to improve the efficiency of airline-forwarder cargo operations.
“Strengthening the Cargo 2000 program and advancing it to a successful resolution will be a top priority,” he said.
Rohrmann served as CEO at AEI from 1989 until Deutsche Post AG bought the forwarder early this year. He joined AEI in Germany in 1961.
