Coast Guard investigates barge explosion near Venice, La.
The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating a Saturday afternoon barge explosion near Venice, La., which left one person missing.
The Coast Guard said the tank barge, carrying about 17,000 gallons of crude oil, exploded and caught fire during a welding operation. It’s uncertain how much crude oil spilled into the water.
The Coast Guard is investigating the accident.
