Eric Kulisch, trade and transportation editor of American Shipper, received an award from the London-based Seahorse Club Dec. 9 for his September 2014 issue feature, “Shore power disruptor?” (pages 48-56), an analysis of a new pollution-control technology for ships being tested at the Port of Long Beach and a potential competitor to shore-power systems investments already made by West Coast marine terminals.
The Seahorse Club is a networking group of public relations, marketing, advertising and journalism professionals in the freight transport, shipping and logistics sectors. Each year, the group picks the best news and feature articles from among various categories. Articles for the contest are submitted by industry journalists from around the world. Kulisch’s article topped the Seahorse Club’s “Environmental Journalist of the Year” category.
