The Commerce Department has released the 11th edition of its guide to assist small and midsized enterprises with exporting.

The Commerce Department has released the 11th edition of its guide to assist small and midsized enterprises with exporting.
The newly revised publication, A Basic Guide to Exporting, provides a number of tools for businesses to use including tips on how to identify new markets and sample forms needed to export. The guide also points businesses to government-offered export assistance from the U.S. Commercial Service’s worldwide network of offices.
“Through its 19 chapters, the Basic Guide provides information on maximizing overseas success, sharing several case studies of successful U.S. companies that export,” the Commerce Department said.
Of the nearly 30 million companies in the United States, Commerce estimates that about 300,000 firms are exporters and 98 percent of the country’s exporters are small and midsized businesses with fewer than 500 employees.
