Container inspection, repair classes in Newark
The Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL) will hold its next inspection and repair courses in Newark, N.J., in late April.
The dry van course will be on April 27, while the chassis class will take place on April 28. Course registration rates are $400 for the dry van class and $375 for the chassis course.
The IICL chassis inspection course includes a discussion about the recently introduced Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration 'roadability' regulations. This involves a review of FMCSA's Intermodal Equipment Providers (IEP) responsibilities as well as inspection requirements for drivers and terminals. This review will be incorporated into the course curriculum and how it relates to IICL inspection and repair criteria.
IICL has previously hosted the refrigerated container inspection and repair courses in Shanghai, China, during in mid February. The dry van and chassis inspection and repair courses were held in early March in Miami, followed by the same a week later in the Bahamas.
For more information about these courses, access the IICL's Web site. IICL is a trade association representing lessors of maritime containers and intermodal chassis.
