Continental Holdings buys Dixie Box & Crating
Continental Holdings, a Richmond, Va.-based real estate and investment company, has acquired international and domestic packaging services provider Dixie Box & Crating.
Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. However, the Dixie name will remain unchanged.
According to Continental Holdings, Dixie president Charles Frasier will become vice chairman, and Dixie corporate vice president John Deusner will serve as president and chief operating officer.
Joining Dixie’s management is Michael Smith, president of Continental Holdings. Smith will serve as Dixie’s chief executive officer.
Dixie provides export, domestic and military packaging services, including on-site packaging and plant dismantling, certified hazardous materials packaging for ocean and air shipments, heavy lift and specialized trucking, warehousing, and export container loading.
Dixie operates 10 warehouses located in Austin, Texas; Charleston, S.C.; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Houston; Norfolk, Va.; New Orleans; Rancho Dominguez and North Hollywood, Calif.; Phoenix, Ariz.; and Savannah, Ga.
