CORRECTION: NYK/Hapag suspend calls at Costa Rica port

A news report on Monday interpreted Hapag-Lloyd’s temporary suspension of its service to Puerto Caldera as a response to the massive earthquake that occurred in Costa Rica on Sept. 5. The liner carrier clarified the suspension was actually the result of “extreme congestion” and “partial closure of most of their berthing positions” due to dredging and berth maintenance work in progress prior to the earthquake.
