COSCO adds feeder service to Zhapu
COSCO Container Lines and its affiliate COSCO International Freight have added a feeder service connecting the main port of Shanghai to Zhapu, a port located about 100 nautical miles further south, on the Hangzhou bay.
A 100-TEU container vessel, the “Kai Fa”, will sail between the ports of Zhapu and Shanghai three times a week.
COSCO said that the port of Zhapu is located 50 nautical miles from “the strategically important deepwater port of Yangshan, which is currently under construction.”
Zhapu serves as a gateway to the areas of Hangzhou, Jiaxing, southwest Huzhou and the southern areas of Jiangsu and Anhui, according to the Chinese group.
COSCO International Freight, also known as Cosfre, is an affiliate of the COSCO group that is engaged in freight forwarding and liner agency.
