COSCO ADDS NINGBO, CHARTERS EVERGREEN SHIP IN PACIFIC
COSCO Container Lines has released details of its revised
transpacific "CES" service and confirmed that it is chartering a vessel owned by
Evergreen for the service.
The service now includes a direct call at Ningbo, China.
The revised rotation, operated jointly by COSCO, Yangming Marine Transport
and "K" Line, of the service is Yokohama; Hong Kong; Xiamen; Ningbo; Shanghai;
Kobe; Nagoya; Long Beach; Oakland; and Yokohama again.
Full details of the revised service can be found on-line at http://www.compairschedules.com.
The Evergreen vessel "Ever Guide" joins the service when it sails
from Xiamen Dec. 12.
The Ever Guide is just under 1,300 TEUs bigger than the vessel it replaces on
the service.
Evergreen said that it is chartering the vessel to COSCO without entering
into a slot charter agreement. "There has been no filing with the Federal Maritime
Commission and therefore, there cannot be a slot charter in U.S. trades," the
spokesman said
Recently the Evergreen Group’s chairman talked of expanding the cooperation
between Evergreen and COSCO to additional trade routes.
