COSCO Pacific sees growth in terminals, container leasing

COSCO Pacific said it had gross profit of $315 million in 2012, 22 percent more than in 2011.
Revenue was $735.5 million, 23 percent more than in 2011.
The company said revenue from the terminal business rose 24 percent to $402 million, mainly due to the business growth of Piraeus Container Terminal in Greece and Guangzhou South China Oceangate Terminal Co. Ltd.
Revenue from the container leasing, management and sales business rose 22 percent to $336 million, mainly attributable to an increase in the number of containers on hire and a sharp rise in the number of disposed returned containers at the end of their 10-year leases. – Chris Dupin
