COSCO TO START MEDITERRANEAN/WEST AFRICA SERVICE
COSCO Container Lines will start a fixed-day fortnightly service between ports in the Mediterranean and West Africa at the beginning of March.
The new service will deploy two 700-TEU capacity vessels. The vessel “Prosrich” will start the service when it departs from Genoa on March 1.
The port rotation for the new service will be Genoa, Marseilles-Fos, Barcelona, Dakar, Abidjan, Lagos, Tema, Dakar, Genoa, Marseilles-Fos and Barcelona.
The scheduled transit time from Genoa to Dakar will be eight days. Dakar to Genoa will take seven days.
COSCO said that it will use Genoa as a hub port for its transhipment services throughout the Mediterranean area.
