Crowley adds 400 reefer containers to equipment fleet

The U.S.-owned and operated marine solutions, transportation and logistics company added 400 new refrigerated cargo containers to its equipment fleet to accommodate Central America’s heavy northbound reefer season, which is currently underway.

Crowley Maritime Corporation’s liner services group added 400 new 40-foot high cube refrigerated cargo containers to its equipment fleet in order to better serve the growing needs of its perishables customers in Central America and the Caribbean, the company said in a statement.
The new containers, which are being delivered in Santo Tomas, Guatemala, will accommodate Central America’s heavy northbound reefer season, which is currently underway and is expected to continue through May 2016.
In addition, the refrigerated cargo containers will be deployed throughout the rest of Crowley’s service lanes as needed.
Crowley operates over 52,000 pieces of owned and leased intermodal equipment, including over 22,015 chassis; 21,297 dry containers; and over 3,916 refrigerated containers.
Based out of Jacksonville, Fla., Crowley provides marine solutions, energy and logistics services in domestic and international markets.
