Crowley, Seaboard file space charter agreement

The two companies will share space on a 960-TEU containership.

Crowley Caribbean Services and Seaboard Marine have filed a space charter and sailing agreement between Port Everglades and Rio Haina, Dominican Republic, with the Federal Maritime Commission.
The two companies will share a 960-TEU, lift-on, lift-off ship and may operate two ships without further amendment. The company not operating the ship will charter half the slots to the other, but the agreement allows one party to share more as they agree.
Last October, the two companies announced a vessel-sharing agreement between South Florida, Costa Rica and Panama.
