CSX Intermodal introduces ôThreads Expressö
CSX Intermodal has announced a new intermodal rail service connecting North Carolina with South Florida aimed at the garment trade.
The “Threads Express” will offer what CSX said would be “superior, truck-like service with the cost efficiency and environmental friendliness of rail transportation.”
The service, offered in connection with Florida East Coast Railway, is designed to support the time-sensitive shipments of the garment trade as well other commodities in this market.
The service will accommodate international, domestic and truck customers for container on flatcar shipments.
The service will offer second-morning availability on shipments from Charlotte to Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, and second-afternoon availability on shipments from Ft. Lauderdale and Miami to Charlotte.
The Threads Express will also establish a new service between Charlotte and Savannah with next-day availability in both directions.
