CSX LINES RESHUFFLES U.S./PUERTO RICO SERVICES
Charlotte, N.C.-based CSX Lines has announced changes to its weekly Puerto Rico services to and from the U.S. East and Gulf coasts, effective from the end of March.
The previous “NAN/NAE” service will be renamed “Gulf Atlantic Express.” The “GAX” service has dropped New York as a port of call and recently included a call at New Orleans.
The first sailing for the “GAX” service will be on April 6, when “Sea-Land Crusader” departs from Houston. The full rotation of the “GAX” service is Houston, New Orleans, Jacksonville, San Juan, Houston, New
Orleans and Jacksonville.
The rotations of the former “PRJ” and “PRE” services are being merged into the new “South Atlantic Express/North Atlantic Express” service. Freeport, Bahamas, previously called on the “PRJ” service, is not included on the “NAX/SAX” service.
The first sailing for the “NAX/SAX” service will be when “Sea-Land Producer” sails from New York on March 31. The rotation of the service is New York, San Juan, Jacksonville, San Juan and New York.
CSX Lines said that it is reducing from five to four ships the fleet operated in its Puerto Rico services.
