CTSA: GRI applies to Vancouver as well
Carriers in the Canada Transpacific Stabilization Agreement said Friday they are extending a general rate increase on eastbound shipments, announced earlier this week, to cover cargo arriving at the Port of Vancouver.
The increase — $300 per TEU, $400 per 40-foot equivalent unit, and $500 per high-cube FEU — had earlier applied only to all inland point intermodal, mini-landbridge and East Coast all-water cargo moving on CTSA member lines' vessels. But in a statement Friday, the carriers have included the GRI in shipments to Vancouver. The GRI kicks in Aug. 1.
CTSA members are APL, COSCO Container Lines, Evergreen, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, 'K' Line, NYK Line, OOCL, Yang Ming and Zim Integrated Shipping Services.
