DANZAS ABSORBS DEUTSCHE POST TRANSPORT, LOGISTICS UNITS
Danzas, the forwarding and logistics subsidiary of the Deutsche Post
group, is absorbing Deutsche Post Transport GmbH and Deutsche Post Kontrakt Logistik GmbH.
Deutsche Post Transport, which will be renamed Danzas Transport GmbH,
will report to the "eurocargo" business unit at the Danzas head office in Basel.
By taking over Deutsche Post Transport, Danzas will strengthen its
position in the transport business throughout Europe, Danzas said.
Deutsche Post Transport has about 140 employees and sales of DM400 million ($220 million).
Part of Deutsche Post Kontrakt Logistik GmbH will also be transferred
to Danzas. The operations to be transferred include ITG, a company with 850 employees and
annual sales of DM160 million ($90 million) mainly in fashion and shoe logistics.
Deutsche Post Kontrakt Logistik’s business-to-private activities, which
focus on mail order companies and e-commerce, will remain within the Deutsche Post parent
company.
