DANZAS, DEUTSCHE POST TO ACQUIRE ASG
The rapidly expanding Danzas/Deutsche Post group has said it will
acquire ASG, the Swedish forwarding and transport operator.
Danzas, now the logistics division of the Deutsche Post group, will
acquire 52.4 percent of the capital of ASG through a tender offer. The
board of directors of ASG has approved the offer and will recommend it to
their shareholders.
ASG, one of the largest Nordic forwarding and transport companies, has
annual sales of SKr12 billion ($1.5 billion) and 5,700 employees.
The logistics, road transport, air and sea and specialist business units
of ASG will be integrated into the Danzas group on completion of the
takeover.
Danzas said that the acquisition is subject to approval by the European
Commission.
