DB Schenker Rail UK partners with PD Ports

The third-party logistics provider and PD Ports will offer rail service from Teesport to Mossend and Grangemouth in the United Kingdom starting Aug. 3.

DB Schenker Rail UK has partnered with PD Ports to operate a rail service from Teesport to Mossend and Grangemouth in the United Kingdom.
PD Ports owns and operates Teesport, located on the River Tees in the county of North Yorkshire, Northern England.
The daily rail service will launch Aug. 3 and will run Monday through Friday, transporting containerized traffic. The onward leg from Mossend to Grangemouth was enabled through collaboration with WH Malcolm’s, a logistics company based in Linwood, Renfrewshire, Scotland.
“This new service operated by DB Schenker Rail UK will allow us to further develop Teesport’s connections with Scotland and enhance the Port’s transport infrastructure network to the benefit of shipping lines and intermodal customers,” PD Ports’ Business Development Director Geoff Lippitt said in a statement. “It will also provide daily links to European roll on-roll off (ro-ro) and load on-load off (lo-lo) services.”
