DB Schenker revs up new air freight service

The freight forwarder’s jetcargo division has started a new weekly air cargo service linking Hong Kong to Chicago and Houston.

DB Schenker’s jetcargo division has started a new weekly air cargo service linking Hong Kong to Chicago and Houston.
The freight forwarder said the service meets the needs of the oil and gas, automotive and industrial sectors. It will provide guaranteed capacity on board Boeing 747-8 freighters.
DB Schenker said the service will benefit its “U.S. Midwest customers with freight moving from Southeast China to the U.S. Southwest, Gulf of Mexico and Northern Mexico.”
The forwarder’s jetcargo service now offers three air cargo solutions with “defined lead-times, no dimensional or weight restrictions, and end-to end online tracking.” Service options include 1-2 days (first class), 3-4 days (business class), or within 6 days (economy).
Other benefits from the service, DB Schenker said, include:

  • Direct main-deck freighter capacity from China.
  • Consolidation services, including customs clearance.
  • Time-definite transit options.
  • Land transport services to deliver cargo immediately after arrival to destinations throughout the Americas.
  • Dedicated customer service/sales specialists to help design a service that meets shippers’ requirements.
