DCL STARTS CHINA CONSOLIDATION SERVICE

P&O NEDLLOYD TO RESTRUCTURE AUSTRALIA/U.S AND EUROPE LINKS

   Direct Container Line has started consolidation services from Hong Kong and Shanghai.

   The Carson, Calif.-based neutral non-vessel-operating common carrier said the service from Hong Kong features 13-day transits to Los Angeles; 18-day transits to Chicago; and 19-day transits to New York.

   DCL also offers outbound service from Hong Kong to destinations in South America, Australia/New Zealand and other points in China. Inbound service to Hong Kong includes consolidations from South Korea, Southeast Asia and Europe.

   In Shanghai, DCL has formed a partnership with Divine Phoenix International Transport. Holding a Class “A” license with China’s Ministry of Transport, Divine Phoenix can provide NVO services, trucking and warehousing.

   DCL and Divine will offer two weekly direct services to Los Angeles and New York.
